How do I see The Graph protocol and subgraphs evolving in the future?
Development of The Graph protocol is inseparable from the growth of the whole Web 3 and new decentralized future. It grows like snow-ball rolling from the hill, like a spark-lit wall of fire — and you, guys, literally throw several gasoline barrels to that unstoppable fire.
Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009 didn’t realize all the consequences of his work. Bitcoin, CryptoKitties, smart-contracts — all of them are majorstones in the evolution of Web3. I had the honor of joining the project of equal importance, even if I was not fully realizing it while signing in.
By solving one of the main difficulties — quick and convenient data acquisition — The Graph is inspiring dApps developers to create, by untying their hands. We are going to see far-reaching implications of this revolutionary solution. The Graph should be ready.
In my opinion there are three goals to reach in the nearest future:
1. To increase the bandwidth and workload (number of queries per second) in order to be ready to support impending increase of demand for The Graph Network. Constant successful growing will make critics shut up. Technical implementation has to be perfect. it is the point that today’s monopolists could use as the critisicm of the project.
2. To continue outreach work to increase The Graph’s visibility and to increase the number of the projects that use Everest and subgraphs. I suppose by expanding the number of such users The Graph will face new unpredictable technical challenges, because of the unexpected requirements of new users. Many surprising tasks ahead I suppose.
3. Another blockchains besides the Ethereum have to be considered. We can witness the explosive growth of Tezos, Ripple, Cardano, EOS, Stellar and others. The Graph have to be there among the first for the mutual benefits for the projects and for the growth of The Graph itself.
The Graph has strong community to reach all of the tasks.
